In-12, paperback, grey cover printed in two colours with a vignette. 267 pp. A crease on the spine, which is slightly yellowed; slight foxing on the edges. First French edition of this collection of autobiographically inspired short stories, characterised by pessimism. Henry Miller (1891–1980) dedicated it to the writer Anaïs Nin, his lover and muse whom he met in 1931, with whom he shared a consuming passion. One of 55 numbered copies on Lafuma Navarre pure-fibre vellum (no. XLIV). Translated by Paul Rivert. In good condition.
