First edition of this illustrated travelogue by Benjamin Sarraillon (1901–1989), a graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, who settled in the Algerian capital in 1924, where he opened a studio. An Orientalist painter recommended by Etienne Dinet, he devoted himself to capturing Algerian customs and traditions as faithfully as possible. Here he presents a collection of sketches drawn from life between 1924 and 1955.
