BARRÈS, Maurice. *Les Traits éternels de la France*. A rare Alsatian edition, with a dedicatory note from the author. Strasbourg, n.p. [printed by Müh], 1920 Small 12mo, brown half-calf with corners, smooth spine with title running lengthwise, gilt head, covers preserved. Binding by René Aussourd. 55 pp. Spines, headbands and corners rubbed. A relatively uncommon Alsatian edition of this speech delivered in London on 12 July 1916. This copy is enhanced by an autograph dedication signed by the author on the front cover, addressed to the ‘poet of the Jardin d’amour’, Auguste-Pierre Garnier, and bearing the latter’s bookplate. A fine copy.
