Description

In-folio, folio, parchment cover covered with butcher's paper, titled folder and publisher's slipcase. First edition illustrated with 5 woodcuts in colour by Raoul Hausmann and preceded by a tribute by Ilazd to Hausmann. Copy no. 1 of a unique edition of 50 copies on old Japon paper, signed by Iliazd and the illustrator on the title.
Hausmann's five poems in French are composed and spaced in such a way that the text follows the form and movement of the woodcut step by step. Iliazd has chosen a deliberately faded parchment for the cover.
Slight foxing on the endpapers, rare and minute spotting and small marginal stains, otherwise a very fine copy of this superb work.
