Woodcut showing a weasel (20 x 12.5 cm) illustrating the collection "Histoires naturelles" by Jules RENARD (Paris, [Alain de la Bourdonnaye], 2008).

Enclosed is an invitation to the exhibition "Dix histoires naturelles et dix métamorphoses des animaux échappés du bestiaire de Jules Renard gravées par Alain de la Bourdonnaye" (Ten natural stories and ten metamorphoses of animals escaped from Jules Renard's bestiary engraved by Alain de la Bourdonnaye) presented in May 2008 at the Librairie Les Argonautes in Paris.
Alain de La Bourdonnaye (1930-2016) was a French painter, engraver, publisher and printer. Initially rooted in lyrical abstraction, he turned to artist's books in the late 1970s. He produced around thirty works.
