In-4, purplish morocco, richly decorated smooth spine, wide gilt and mosaic decoration framing the covers with floral motifs in the spandrels, wide central geometric border decorated with small gilt irons, cream morocco lining decorated with small gilt flowers with gilt foliage, double gilt fillet on the edges, gilt edges, covers preserved, slipcase, slipcase (period inspired binding signed Art Nouveau). (period binding of art nouveau inspiration signed by Flammarion-Vaillant - gilding signed by Mainfroy).
38 illustrations by Maurice Leloir engraved with etching and burin by Léon Boisson: 1 header vignette, 36 large in-text figures and 1 cul-de-lampe.
