2 parts bound in 1 vol. in-4 oblong, green vellum, ornate ribbed spine, triple gilt fillet framing the covers with floral motifs in the spandrels, double gilt fillet on the edges, gilt inner border (period binding).
First edition of this fine collection of views of Venice. It is illustrated with a double-page map of Venice and 95 plates containing 180 views and scenes, all engraved on copper.
The work, which is very difficult to find complete, consists of two parts, each with its own title page, containing between 90 and 97 plates in all. Ours contains 95, one of the most complete known.
A superb work presented here in a period gilt vellum binding. The engravings are fresh and in excellent condition. Some minor wear.
