In-folio in ff. of [1] f. illustrated title, [8] pp. of table illustrated with 8 black and blue bands (the text of the first two pages of the table has been repeated by mistake on the following two pages), [8] ff. including 1 colour frontispiece, [1] bl. f., [11] pp. of text illustrated with 11 black and blue bands and 24 full-page woodcuts in monochrome or colour. Minor spotting.
Attached is another copy of the text in in-4 format, in ff. without cover, illustrated with the title, 11 headbands, and two full-page plates in fine (including the frontispiece taken from the in-folio volume). With a long E.A.S. from the artist to his friend Jehan Le Povremoyne (1903-1970, born Ernest Eugène Coquin, Norman novelist, storyteller, short-story writer and poet.
A rare and beautiful collection by the painter Albert Copieux (1885-1956), best known for his many sketches of soldiers' lives during the First World War. Settling in Le Havre at the end of his artistic career, he became director of the École des Beaux-Arts, contributing to its revival after the war.
