André de La Fresnaye, born in Falaise in 1756, died at the château de La Fresnaye near Falaise on 24 August 1824.

Interesting provenance with the ex-libris stamp on the title of the library of Lt Colonel GERHARDT, Gustave-Adolphe (1824-?) who was chief squadron instructor at Saumur in 1869-1870, retired in 1874 and wrote many books (cf. Mennessier de La Lance I? 543-544). Ex-libris JM.
