(Giorgio CELIBERTI). Giorgio Celiberti. [11805] A collection of 19 exhibition brochures and catalogues (1960 to 1969) as well as newspaper cuttings on this Italian artist; exhibitions in Rome, Genoa, Milan, Padua, Trieste and Turin. A fine collection featuring L’Obelisco Gallery 1961, Galerie 63 Inc. 1963, three catalogues from Torbandena, L’Approdo Modern Art Gallery 1965, Zanini Art Gallery, Rome 1969, the Sagittaria Art Gallery, the Rotta Gallery, 1962, the Bergamini Gallery, 1962, … plus a book by Marcello Venturoli on Celiberti from 1964. All in Italian. “Born in Udine in 1929, he studied under Emilio Vedova in 1948. In the early 1950s, he moved to Paris and then Brussels. Venice International Art Exhibition 1948, 1950; the 150th anniversary of Italian unification in 2011, curated by Bruno Mauresing. He also took part in five Rome Quadriennales between 1952, various exhibitions such as the ‘New Italian Painting’ exhibition at the Kumakura Museum in Japan, as well as numerous other exhibitions abroad. In 1963, one of his works was exhibited at ‘Contemporary Italian Paintings’, an exhibition held in several Australian cities. In 2003, he won the Premio Sulmona; his work has been featured in several museums, including the Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara in 1989, the Grand Palais in Paris in 1989, the retrospective at the Villa Museo di Breda in Padua in 2005, and the 2009–2010– marking the artist’s eightieth birthday – at the Jewish Museum in Venice, the Giorgio Celiberti exhibition, and the exhibition ‘Passion and the Body of History’, held between 2014 and 2015 at the National Museum of Ravenna.”
