First edition of this account by the geographer and explorer Charles Rabot (1856-1944) in which the author recounts his travels in northern Russia: crossings of Lapland, expeditions to Karelia and as far as the icy shores of the White Sea. Rabot describes the Arctic landscapes, the Sami and Karelian populations and his ethnographic and geographical observations.
