Important first edition of this account of travel and exploration in Asia Minor by Victor Langlois (1829-1869), historian and archaeologist specialising in the Orient and Armenia. Commissioned in 1852-1853, he travelled through Cilicia and the Taurus Mountains, studying ancient and medieval remains, Armenian and Byzantine monuments and local traditions.
