SOLDIER (metal) — Set of 17 — Seventeen hand-painted metal figurines of French infantrymen, forming a guard of honour around the flag. A standard-bearer in a dark blue tunic with gold buttons and madder-red trousers carries the tricolour flag with a gold sash and fringe. Five figures in white work tunics, dark trousers with red piping and kepis with red bands, one of whom is carrying a spade and another a pioneer’s tool. Eleven infantrymen in full dress uniform, wearing dark blue tunics with red collars and gold buttons, dark or light-coloured trousers, a kepi and a fawn-coloured knapsack on their backs. Most of the bases in the set are painted green, whilst the remaining ones are left unpainted or painted ochre. Vintage manufacture, unidentified brand. — As is. Original box or blister pack missing.
