SCALE MODEL (wood) — French Nieuport 17 biplane fighter aircraft from the First World War, in the colours of flying ace Charles Nungesser (43 confirmed victories) - No. 65 Squadron, carved wooden display model, plastered and lacquered, natural metal finish, tricolour cockades on the wings, rudder striped blue, white and red, single V-shaped strut and landing gear struts imitating varnished wood, two-bladed wooden propeller, metal rod axle and undercarriage. The pilot’s personal emblem is painted on both sides of the fuselage: a black heart enclosing a coffin, two candles and a skull set against a cross of bones.
