SCALE MODEL (wood) — A display model of the four-engined Handley Page Halifax heavy bomber in the colours of the French bomber groups of the Royal Air Force, carved from wood, filled and lacquered. Green and brown camouflage on the upper surface, black sides and underside, French cockades with yellow edging, twin vertical stabilisers, glazed nose and dorsal turrets, three-bladed propellers, and attached wire aerials. A round orange badge featuring a running hare is painted on the nose. The model bears the code ‘L8-P’ of No. 347 Squadron, the Tunisia Bomber Group, on one side, and the code ‘H7-R’ of No. 346 Squadron, the Guyenne Bomber Group, on the other, with each vertical stabiliser bearing the corresponding individual letter.
