FRANCE, circa 1900 - Judge’s mortarboard of the Court of Cassation – black velvet and satin, with a wide (35 mm) band of gold-threaded canetille beneath the crown – at the base, an 80 mm band of black velvet in an astrakhan-style finish - Lined with black leather and black fabric.
