Blue fabric covered with a 6 cm band decorated with fleurs-de-lis in silver-coloured wire. – Rigid top in black lacquer, visor likewise – at the front, a brass regimental plate stamped with the crowned royal arms of Spain flanked by two palm fronds. Above this, a metal plate with a tab, measuring 5.5 x 2.3 cm, 8 lines high, with a design at the bottom featuring crossed sabres and flags. Below, a 5.5 cm cockade in red pleated fabric with a white circular band – At the front of the shako, a red velvet plume – Interior: brown leather and ivory silk with the hatmaker’s mark: F.
