Description
CATHOLIC RELIGION – “GRAND-CLERC CANDIDATE’S CROSS” of the Diocese of “MARIE REINE DU CLERGÉ” ( * ) – High-fire enamelled copper, 68 x 62 mm with a suspension ring cast into the mould. Green four-pointed cross with gold fleurs-de-lis; in the centre, the Virgin Mary, holding a chalice in her left hand and the infant Jesus seated on her right arm – 33.77 grams. - SUP ( * ) SAINT NICOLAS du CHARDONNET / PARIS: in 1862, Father Louis Heuqueville placed the apse chapel of the church under this patronage on the occasion of the works caused by the construction of Boulevard Saint Germain. In October 1907, Father Gabriel Lenert established “a work of union in prayer and sacrifice to the Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the Clergy, for the recruitment and sanctification of the clergy”. On 21 April 1908, this confraternity was approved by Pope Pius X.
