approximately 10.5 × 6.3 cm.
( * ) E. OLIVIER: born on 2 July 1825 in Marseille, died on 20 August 1913 in St Gervais-les-Bains. A lawyer and later a prefect under the Second Republic, he was elected as a Republican deputy under the Second Empire. Napoleon III tasked him with forming a government of ‘new men’, bringing together liberal Bonapartists and Orléanists who had rallied to the cause. Son of Démosthène OLIVIER, Member of Parliament for the Bouches-du-Rhône. He was educated at the Imperial College in Marseille, then at the Lycée Louis le Grand. Member of the Académie Française from 1870 to 1913.
