( * ) Paul Henri Ernest de ROYER: born in Versailles on 29 October 1808, died in Paris on 13 December 1877. Studied in Marseille, and studied law in Grenoble and Paris. A lawyer, he entered the judiciary in 1832 – Minister of Justice under the Second Republic in 1851, then again under the Second Empire in 1857–1859 – Attorney General at the Court of Cassation 1853–1857 – Senator from 1859 to 1870 – First President of the Court of Auditors, President of the Marne General Council.
