LA ROCHOUSE, in the commune of LANGEAIS (37) – BERANGER FACTORY ( * ) – A beautiful animated map showing the refractory brick production workshops – postcard circa 1910 – ( * ) Béranger Factory: Originally a brickworks, later a stoneware factory. A brick kiln was built in 1899, followed by a house in 1901, on land belonging to René BERANGER-COUDREAU, a tile maker. The site subsequently passed to Alfred BERANGER-GALLE, who had a second brick kiln built, and in 1924 to his widow – The factory produced bricks and fittings for industrial and bakery kilns, as well as decorative tiles. The factory employed four people.
