Convertible dog collar tag in silver (800e) with an 18k rose gold (750e) plating, rectangular in shape with an openwork design, stylised as a topped with a quiver and small flowers, set against a background of interlaced bands, surrounded by a laurel frieze, the whole adorned with rose-cut diamonds. (2 imperfections) Italian work from the late 19th century. Gross weight: 74 g. Dimensions: 10 x 6.5 cm. Provenance: The Borghi family, passed down through the generations. Based in Varano Borghi, at the heart of a former Italian working-class village, the Borghi family traces its origins to the early 19th century, when it founded a prosperous and renowned textile company. The jewellery offered in this auction bears witness to the economic boom of the Italian bourgeoisie of the time and illustrates not only its industrial success, but also the social status that characterised the elites of the 19th century.
