Jean PILLEMENT (Lyon, 1728 – 1808): “Landscapes with Washerwomen at Sunset”. Oil on canvas, 62 x 90.5 cm. Appraised by: Cabinet Turquin. Jean Pillement (1728–1808) stayed in Portugal between 1750 and 1754, where he worked, notably in Lisbon, in the service of the court of Joseph I. As was his custom, Pillement composed these idealised landscapes here based on his observations and travel sketches.
