Description
Lot consisting of 4 fragments, two of which are engraved with inscriptions in Greek characters and one in the form of an acanthus leaf. Marble. Visible cracks and breaks. Greek and Roman art. Heights from 13 to 30 cm. Expert : Antoine TARANTINO. Provenance : Villa l'Ermitage (former villa on the Mourillon in Toulon), 58 boulevard Eugène Pelletan, which included a greenhouse with a rockery, these elements were embedded in the masonry. In the 19th century, this villa belonged to a sailor, before being purchased in 1905 by Léon Bournicard (an engineer at the La Seyne sur Mer shipyards) and his wife Joséphine, née Berthelet. It was then inherited by his nephews
