Extremely rare reprint of the essay "La Regla Abstracta", printed on handmade paper with interleaved drawings, written in 1946 by the Uruguayan artist Joaquín Torres-García (1874-1949) for the introduction to "Nueva Escuela de Arte de Uruguay", published in Montevideo in 1946 by the Asociación de Arte Constructivo. Enclosed is a note signed with Pierre Lecuire's initials: "This book by the painter Torres-García was given to me by his pupil and friend Sergio de Castro, who enclosed a gouache (signed and dedicated 1960). P.L."
