First illustrated edition, decorated with 60 compositions by Adolphe Giraldon, in a splendid binding by Charles Meunier, lined with a rich mosaic decoration of Egyptian inspiration.

Large in-8 (170x260 mm), green morocco, spine with 4 faux-nerfs framed with cold fillets meeting on the boards, floral motif flanked by two mosaic snakes in brown, red ochre and havana morocco in the centre of the spine, orange morocco lining bordered with two straight and curved listels in lemon and Lavallière morocco, with lotus leaves mosaic in brown, green, ecru and blue-grey morocco in the spandrels, and for the front cover a large central decoration in the Egyptian style, composed of various symbolic subjects mosaicked in different coloured morocco (a bouquet of lotus flowers and buds, a central yellow ochre medallion with a scarab flanked by two snakes and two large wings), olive moire endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges, covers and spine preserved (Ch. Meunier, 1901).
III, 294 pages and 8 ff.n.ch. (list of members of the Society), 60 compositions by Adolphe Giraldon, wood-engraved by Quesnel and tinted in colour and gold, including 1 frontispiece, 3 full-page drawings, 27 in medallions, 27 culs-de-lampe and 2 headpieces.
