A sumptuous copy in a luxury binding, in full black morocco with the coat of arms of the States of Languedoc. Montpellier, De l'imprimerie Jean Martel ainé, imprimeur ordinaire du roi, des Etats de la province de Languedoc, 1786. One folio volume (370 x 255 mm). Full black morocco, triple fillet framing the covers, arms of the States of Languedoc stamped in gold in the centre of the covers, spine with 6 nerves decorated with friezes on the headpieces, roulettes on the nerves and flowered boxes with gilt irons, double fillet on the edges, all edges gilt. Contemporary binding. 583 pp, 1 pp.b/w, 31 pp, 1 p.b/w, 34 pp, 6 pp.b/w,,xxxi pp. 5 pp.b/w. Minor defects to binding. A few rare passages underlined in pencil. First edition of the minutes of the Estates-General of Languedoc held from 12 January 1786 to 18 February 1786. The edition is followed by two appendices devoted to the sénéchaussées of Carcassonne and Toulouse and a table of contents. The coat of arms was inspired by the medieval arms of the sovereign counts of Toulouse: Gules, a cross cleche, voided and crested of twelve Or. A very fine copy in excellent condition, with no restorations.
