First edition of this great intimate novel by Maupassant. Copy on common paper, after only 10 copies printed on Hollande, the only large paper. "This first edition is quite rare, even on ordinary paper". (Clouzot).
Originally published as a serial in Gil Blas, and in bookshops the same year, "Une Vie" is the author's first novel. It traces the life of Jeanne de Lamare, "from the moment her heart awakens until her death".
