In-8, half brown basane with corners, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets at head and foot with red title page, all edges red.
254 pp.
Boards rubbed, first one scratched. Restoration to the margins of pages 23 to 38 and to the title page affecting its text. Scattered foxing. Error on the title page: it says Vignang, whereas it is Vignancour. Title page skilfully restored.
Important historical study, "based on the memoirs of a Basque soldier", in fact borrowed from the knight Jean-Philippe de Béla (1709-1796) who left a manuscript outlining a vast History of the Basques which was never published.
