Collection complete with the rare volume of tables, perfectly established in bindings decorated with owls and literary attributes by Charles Meunier. Paris, Quantin, 1890,1891,1892. Five volumes in-8 (255 x 170 mm), blue half-maroquin with corners, smooth spines richly decorated with custom or special small irons of owls, feathers, title-pieces, date and contents at foot in mosaic lavallière and white morocco (Bindings signed at the bottom of the spines Ch. Meunier). 431pp; 399pp; 384pp; 384pp; 154pp. Spines a little shaded. First edition. Printed in an edition of 1050 copies, this one of the first edition on Japon impérial (first paper) limited to 20 copies, n°III. Set of 24 issues of this prestigious magazine dedicated to Bibliophily of which Octave Uzanne was the editor-in-chief. Decorated with 44 engraved or lithographed hors-texte plates after Rops, Robida, Bracquemond, Courboin, Métivet, Willette etc. In-text, ornaments and illustrated lettering. All the covers, designed by Adolphe Giraldon and engraved by Clément Bellenger on paper of different colours, have been bound at the end of each volume. The last volume is devoted entirely to the table of contents written by Mourlevat. Provenance: from the library of André Barrier ( Paris 1870 - 1957 ) with his handwritten ex-libris on the flyleaf at the beginning, accompanied by the engraved and glued ex-libris of Jean Barrier. President of the Court of Appeal and a great bibliophile, André Barrier was president of the Cent Bibliophiles and a member of several other bibliophilic societies such as: Amis des Livres, Bibliophiles du Palais & Livre Contemporain.
