Three volumes in one in-4 ( 230 x 175 mm). Yellow vellum, author on spine in black handwritten letters. Red speckled edges (modern binding). 6ff.n.ch., 350pp, 5ff.n.ch., 1 f, 243pp (1), 3 f.n.ch., 8 plates, 1f, 98 pp 1 f.n.ch. Some scattered foxing. Slight wetness in the first part on pages 39-137. Rare quarto edition bringing together the three main texts by Machiavelli (1469-1527), each with title and pagination & in the first French translation: the Discourses & the Art of War translated by Jacques Gohory, and the Prince translated by Gaspard d'Auvergne. A good copy, well preserved in a modern full vellum binding.
