Rare second edition of these Sapphic poems published under the pseudonym of Pablo de Herlagnez.
Copy given to the acedemic Emile Henriot by André Maurois' wife Simone de Caillavet, with autograph letter signed.

In-12 (165 x 110 mm), paperback, marbled paper cover. Brown morocco slipcase, spine ribbed with gilt and cold-stamped fillets, titling in gilt lettering, cardboard and canvas slipcase.
16 pages.
Slight browning on the title and on the facing receipt. Endpapers yellowed.
Second edition printed in only 100 copies on laid paper.
It appeared two years after the very rare original which was condemned to destruction by the criminal court of Lille.
Title adorned with a woodcut vignette.
This volume contains the following poems: Sur le balcon - Pensionnaires - Per amica silentia - Printemps - Été - Sappho. Verlaine's poésies saphiques were first published under cover in Brussels in 1868 by Poulet-Malassis and later reprinted in Parallèlement in 1889.
Provenance: LAS and 2 envelopes from Simone Maurois, André Maurois addressed to Émile Henriot.
