Beautiful French edition, translated by Paul Gruyer and Louis Postif, illustrated with 76 watercolours by Charles Fouqueray (1869-1956), a French painter and illustrator with a love of maritime life. In this novel, described as the darkest of his works, Jack London raises the question of brute force and evil through the violence generated by the mutiny of the crew of the Elsinore. Pierre Chenal adapted it for the screen in 1936.
Limited edition of 300 copies on Vélin blanc de cuve (No. 214).
An admirable copy in perfect condition.
