In-4 (300x210mm), leaves in printed cover. [8ff. folded forming 24pp.] comprising 15 black lithographs; 6 L.A.S. from Jean-Paul Héraud to Olga and Mathieu Bénézet, 1 model of the book cover, 1 original drawing signed in pencil and pastels, 1 large woodcut enhanced with pastels signed in pencil on seismological paper, 5 signed woodcuts and a page of manuscript. First edition. "UNIQUE OLGA EXEMPLAIRE (not appearing in the colophon)." The latter is scribbled with a large original multicoloured pencil drawing by Héraud, and mentions 200 copies for the edition. Autograph letter signed in pencil: "Pour OL à la lumière / pour toi que j'aime / ce livre où tu me parles si doucement / pour t'embrasser toujours / dans le cou / Mathieu. 7.XI.88". Mathieu Bénézet (1946-2013) was a protean French writer and poet. Influenced as a young man by his encounter with André Breton and Louis Aragon, his work attempts to synthesise their respective works. His influence was considerable in the 1970s and 80s, with poets such as Jacques Dupin and Anne-Marie Albiach. Also a publisher with Flammarion, Seghers and Éditions du Rocher, he wrote around sixty books and was also a radio broadcaster. In 2013, he was awarded the Grand Prix de Poésie by the Académie Française for his body of work. This is undoubtedly the finest copy of this collection of poems.
