Remarkable mosaic-painted binding by Anita Conti, containing one of 31 artists' copies, enriched with an original portrait of the author signed by P. Gandon, 3 signed autograph letters (from Henry de Régner and his wife Marie), and a signed autograph letter from the illustrator Sylvain Sauvage.

In-4 (230x270 mm), black morocco, first cover decorated with a large mosaic decoration painted in pink, green and several shades of ochre, depicting flowers in pots and a landscape extending to the spine and second cover, wide inner border with red and black mosaic decoration painted on the corners, Lining and endpapers decorated with stylized petals in shades of orange and green, double endpapers, head gilt and tinted red on witnesses, covers and spine preserved, in a raffia cloth case bordered with the same black morocco and lined with yellow ochre felt (Anita Conti).
232 pages, 20 coloured etchings by Sylvain Sauvage, including 1 frontispiece, 1 title vignette and 18 hors-texte, and 20 woodcuts in headbands and tailpieces.

Fine edition of this novel by Henri de Régner, decorated with 43 compositions by Sylvain Sauvage (1888-1948), including 20 coloured etchings and 23 woodcuts.
Limited edition of 226 copies, this being one of 31 artist's copies.

- an original portrait of Henri de Régnier, signed by P. Gandon and dated 1925
- two autograph letters signed by Henri de Régnier, one dated November 1900, thanking him for a glowing article, (2 handwritten pages on a double in-8 leaflet), the other dated 7 July 1933, addressed to the bookbinder Anita Conti (1 handwritten page on 1 in-12 leaflet)
- a L.A.S. from Marie de Régnier dated 8 February 1916, concerning the edition of André Chénier's bucoliques by J.M. de Hérédia (2 handwritten pages on 1 in-8 sheet)
- an autograph letter from Sylvain Sauvage in ink on the title page: "À Monsieur Georges Foussier, avec toute ma sympathie", signed by Sylvain Sauvage and dated 1 May 1945.
Delightful binding signed by Anita Conti (1899-1997), née Caracotchian, mentioned by Fléty among the amateurs who took part in exhibitions between 1919 and 1939. She later became the first woman oceanographer; her photographs of sailors and fishing expeditions have remained famous.
