A splendid copy of this fully engraved bibliophilic edition, containing ten tales beautifully illustrated by various artists, including 6 rare lithographs by Alex. Lunois, perfectly established by Mercier in a striking full morocco binding.

Small in-4 (180x270 mm), full chocolate brown morocco, spine ribbed with gold fillet and cold framing, cold and gilt framing with a listel of duck blue morocco on the entrenerfs, wide framing of 14 gilt and cold fillets with a listel of the same duck blue morocco on the boards, gilt edges, interior frieze, green morocco lining decorated with a gilt frame, the first signed "Mercier Sr de Cuzin", green silk endpapers, cover and spine preserved, matching chemise and slipcase. Binding signed Mercier, Cuzin's successor.
10 separately paginated plates, 1 general frontispiece in colour by Paul Avril after Félicien Rops, numerous illustrations in black and colour in and out of the text (engravings, etchings, lithographs and heliogravures).
