Remarkable mosaic binding by Trinckvel, containing one of the 75 nominative copies for members of the Cercle Grolier, enriched with a black suite of illustrations by Paul Gervais. Paris, Association et Cercle Grolier, 1932. In-4 (240x280 mm), midnight blue morocco, spine with 4 cold-framed bands, stamped Egyptian-inspired floral composition, gilt and mosaic in red, green and brown morocco in the centre of the spine and on the boards, gilt fillet on the edges, wide inner band of the same morocco set with gilt fillets crossing at the corners and with the signature "Trinckvel" in gilt lettering, blue and gilt paper lining and endpapers, gilt head, covers and spine preserved, lined slipcase (Trinckvel). 274 pages and 2 ff. (list of founding members of the Grolier Association), 33 watercolours by Paul Gervais, copper-engraved hors-texte by Louis Maccard and coloured by Edmond Vairel. Very slight rubbing on the nerves, foxing on the edges in the continuations. Charming edition donated by the company founded by Charles Meunier, decorated with 33 watercolours by Paul Gervais, copper-engraved hors-texte by Louis Maccard and coloured by Edmond Vairel. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies, this being one of 75 copies reserved for corresponding members of the Cercle Grolier (No. 129, printed for Dr Jiuan Ahumada). It is enriched with a specimen of the author's handwriting on the false title, in the form of a signed autograph letter to Charles Meunier, and a black continuation of the illustrations.
