In-4 (210x290 mm), orange morocco, geometrical framing decoration on the boards composed of a brown morocco strip interspersed with four burgundy morocco strips, spine with 4 false ribs decorated in the same way, lemon morocco linings framed with two havana or burgundy morocco strips and two gilt fillets, signature "E. Maylander" in the leather, plum silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, covers and spine preserved, half morocco flap folder, matching slipcase lined with green felt (Maylander).

First edition of this collection of poetic and dreamy short stories by Colette, illustrated with 12 original colour lithographs by the post-impressionist painter and lithographer Charles Guérin (1875-1939).
Limited edition of 285 numbered copies, this one of the first 35 on Japon à la forme (N°6).
A precious copy enriched with an original monogrammed wash by Charles Guérin, depicting a kneeling gentleman kissing the hand of his mistress (200x280 mm) and a suite of 12 colour lithographs on China paper, each accompanied by its decomposition on the same paper.
Trained by Gustave Moreau, Charles Guérin (1875-1939) exhibited his paintings and lithographs at the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts from 1896. He also produced numerous illustrations for bibliophile works, notably collections by Verlaine and Desbordes-Valmore. His paintings and lithographs form part of major museum collections, including the Musée d'Orsay and many regional museums.
