Set of the first three series of this historical study by Edouard Ducéré (1849-1910) first published in the bulletin of the Société des Sciences et Arts de Bayonne. An important Bayonne scholar, Edouard Ducéré is known for the abundance of his studies on local history, but also for his literary work. This wide-ranging and richly documented study of Napoleon's presence in the Bayonne region follows on from an earlier study of Bayonne under the Ancien Régime.
A fantasy of the Bayonne printing house Lamaignère, this rare, wide-margined copy printed on quires of eight leaves in alternating colours was not included in the edition of 25 copies.
[Beard 324 and 325].
An amusing printing with the appearance of a colour chart.
