She was a pupil of Octave Guillonnet at the JULIAN studio on Rue de Berry in Paris. She was strongly influenced by Gustave Moreau in her early career. As an Orientalist painter, she developed her work towards a colourful lyricism inspired by the light of North Africa and Spain. Mountain landscapes, particularly those of Savoy, also feature prominently in her work.
