Description
A neoclassical-style white marble and gilded bronze pendulum clock with a portico design; the polygonal base is decorated with rows of pearls and foliage-motif appliqués; the column-like uprights have smooth shafts topped with a lyre; the whole is surmounted by a vase of flowers. The circular dial has a white enamelled background, Roman numeral hour markers, two winding squares, stylised hands, a gong chime, a five-spoke wheel, and a wire suspension with a pendulum on a fork decorated with a mask against a beam of light. Dated late 18th–early 19th century. (Chips on the dial; hands need reattaching). Total height 44 cm.
