Description
A rare silver mustard or spice spoon in the shape of a small ladle, of the ‘uniplat’ style, with a broad bowl edged with a moulded fillet. Louis XV period. 18th-century Dauphiné Farmers-General hallmarks. Jurisdiction and town of GRENOBLE, probably 1762–1768. Master silversmith: Mathieu BRET, admitted in 1736. Length: 12 cm. Weight: 22g. The silversmith’s hallmark is reproduced in the reference work *Les orfèvres du Dauphiné* by Gisèle GODEFROY on page 185. Also reproduced in HELFT no. 395 on page 147.
