AEROPHILATELY – FAYENCE / VAR – TWO DOCUMENTS dated 22 October 1946. AIR DROP OF MAIL, 3rd trial of ballasting letters. - Illustrated postcard, franked at 1 F with stamps featuring the coat of arms of Nice and the French shield with the Cross of Lorraine, dated postmark ‘NICE GRIMALDI’ + blue, imperforated commemorative overprint vignette with a 5 F surcharge, aircraft dropping mail, with a cancellation mark from ‘the Aero Club Populaire de Nice & de la Riviera’. - Same postcard, same description but with a brown vignette, 10-franc surcharge showing a twin-engine aircraft in flight. - On the back of both postcards, print run code and numbering.
