WURTTEMBERG, STAMPS FROM THE FRENCH OCCUPATION ZONE IN GERMANY. Complete set of the 13 ‘Landscapes and Famous People’ stamps, 1947–1948, with a postmark from the Friedrichshafen Cultural Festival ( * ), large-format illustrated postmark dated 25 April 1948 on a large document depicting a Zeppelin flying over Lake Constance. ( * ) 1st FRIEDRICHSHAFEN CULTURAL FESTIVAL 17 April to 2 May 1948 – 85 per cent of the town was destroyed by air raids on the aircraft manufacturing plants (Dornier, Zeppelin) and the Maybach car works during the Second World War (1939–1945). During this festival, 22,000 visitors from neighbouring Switzerland visited the town on board 55 special vessels. A new beginning for Friedrichafen, the capital of Baden-Württemberg.
