FRANCE – PSEUDO POSTAL STAMP from the PHILATELIC CONGRESS of 3 June 1922 in Paris - Illustration of a vermilion 1 franc stamp bearing a printed cancellation from the event and Bartholdi’s Statue of Liberty in New York. Illustration signed Rudaux * . * Henri Edmond RUDAUX (1870–1927), a particularly prolific and renowned artist of his time, painter, lithographer, illustrator and poster artist for the entertainment industry and commerce. He was also an illustrator for numerous newspapers, in particular *L’Illustration*. A significant painter, particularly of seascapes – he lived in Normandy – he exhibited at numerous art fairs in Paris, Bordeaux, Le Havre and Rouen.
