SWISS AEROPHILATELY – FIRST AERIAL POSTAL FLIGHT FROM BELLINZONA / Ticino TO ZURICH on 22 August 1927 – Registered letter to Pontarlier/Doubs - Postage: 15c orange & olive stamp featuring an aeroplane over mountains, aeroplane no. 3, plus a rare 75c Icarus stamp with outstretched wings, aeroplane no. 11, Yvert catalogue value; the Icarus stamp alone, when cancelled, is worth 120 euros as a single stamp. The stamps are cancelled with the commemorative flight postmark: “PRIMA POSTA AEREA / BELLINZONA – ZURICH +AGOSTO 1927” – arrived at Zurich airmail office 22 August 1927 – on the reverse: arrived Pontarlier 23 August 1927.
