" 1947 25th anniversary of the P.D.G. 1972 " – RARE Complete set of 3 mint stamps ** withdrawn and NOT ISSUED in 1972 FOR POLITICAL REASONS; the 3 stamps feature the portraits of the presidents of Guinea, Sékou Touré, and of Mali, Moussa Traoré - 3 different views of the 2 Pt stamps, captions: “Man is action; through history, our two peoples are indivisible” ( * ) PDG: Guinean Democratic Party, a political party founded in 1947 to fight for the independence and decolonisation of Africa by Ahmed Sékou Touré, who went on to become the first president of the ‘Republic of Guinea’ in 1958.
