A percussion rifle in the style of the Swiss ‘Schützen’ target rifles. Octagonal barrel marked ‘LR’ within a crowned oval, 279 – 1845 – A. Caron. – 3035. - 1841. Made in Paris in 1841 by Alphonse Caron, the King’s Arquebusier between 1839 and 1852. Overall length 130 cm, barrel 86 cm, muzzle diameter 16 mm, weight 7 kg. In fairly good condition, mechanism non-functional, the trigger screw is missing. Category D weapon.
