Description
[GASTRONOMY] Fernand POINT (1897–1955) and Marie-Louise, known as Mado POINT (1898–1986). A collection of autographs, photographs and documents relating to their restaurant, La Pyramide, in Vienne – which held a Michelin star from 1933 to 1955 – and to their various encounters and friendships. The collection includes, in particular, a menu from the dinner held at the Hôtel de la Côte d’Or in Saulieu on 14 April 1959, signed by the guests and dedicated to Mado POINT, and a booklet by Raymond OLIVIER, restaurant owner at Le Vefour in Paris’s 1st arrondissement, published to mark the bicentenary of his restaurant with texts by Jean COCTEAU, COLETTE and HERON de VILLEFOSSE, published by Mornay in Paris in 1949, accompanied by a signed autograph letter addressed to Fernand and Mado POINT, correspondence between VUILLERMOZ and POINT, etc. Also included is Paul MOREAU’s book, with a foreword by Paul BOCUSE, entitled *Les Secrets de la Mère Brazier*, bearing a dedication addressed to Mado POINT by Roger MOREAU.
