Children with cornet.
A large polychrome enamelled earthenware and barbotine vase decorated with two putti embracing a plant and supporting a bouffant drape.
Signed J. Larue and dated 1863 at the bottom.

NB: The earthenware workshops of the Sèvres manufactory were active between 1852 and 1872, with the aim at the time of giving a new lease of life to the art of earthenware in Europe, following the example of Sarreguemines and Minton.
To date, only three other examples are known, two of which are in the Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres (Inv. 12991/1 and 12991/2) and the other in the Mobilier National (Inv. GML 11102).
